Nina Poppe was born in Münster. She studied photography at the art academy in Utrecht and documentary film at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Her first photo book ‚AMA‘ about Japanese snail divers, was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2011.
She works in photography and video for clients in Germany and abroad and is represented by Galerie Robert Morat in Berlin and Focus agency in Hamburg.
In addition to her own artistic work, in which she pursues a documentary-experimental approach in short films and photographic projects, she initiates and supervises numerous exhibition projects specializing in photo books.
In 2014 she was co-founder of the PhotoBookMuseum Cologne. Since the beginning of 2023 she teaches photography at the Kunsthochschule Hannover.
Nina Poppe lives in Cologne.
